Much like swimming goggles, scuba masks let you see to navigate around the ocean. But swimming goggles are designed only for swimming at the surface of the water. Since you will be wearing the mask the entire dive you have to find one that is comfortable. Scuba masks come in four different types. You can get a dive mask with or without purges. A mask with a purge valve has a small place to get rid of water if it gets in to the nose space.

You can also get a full face mask. These are perfect for the diver because they allow you to breather easily threw your nose and mouth. You can also get extra straps and defog for your mask.
