Compensators
Buoyancy compensators are made to control the buoyancy of the scuba diver. When you are at the surface compensators will help float you and all your scuba gear. Most compensators have the same general features. Most have waist and shoulder adjustments, so they can fit each diver. Most have plenty pockets, shoulder dump valves and lumbar support pads.

There are a few styles of Buoyancy Compensators. If you're a diver who just goes while one vacation the best one for you is the Jacket or vest style. These are also great for training. If you are a serious diver then a technical diver may be the best for you. You can also get a compensator that is designed strictly for women. The straps are usually thinner and the jacket is shorter in the torso.
